Where Should You Go to Happy Hour Tonight?

5:00 is approaching. Your stomach is grumbling. You’re ready for cold cocktail. But where should you go? Use this guide to make the right call.

Its time.

So, are you feeling…

So fancy, you already know

Classy: Head uptown to the Columns Hotel. Everyday from 5-7 you can enjoy half-price house wine, beer, and $3 wells. Sit outside the front porch overlooking St. Charles and enjoy the quintessential NOLA happy hour experience. You can’t beat the atmosphere or the prices.

Every day should be this good.

Patient: Its Taco Tuesday at the Rum House, so you can enjoy $2 tacos, $2 beers and $4 margaritas till 6:30 (but the $2/taco deal runs all night). If you are willing to brave the crowds, we promise the Duck Duck Goose and Crispy Fish tacos won’t let you down. But come prepared to wait around an hour or more depending on when you arrive. If you drive by at 3 people will already be lining up.

Impatient: Headed towards Rum House but decide you aren’t up for the daunting wait for a table? Walk across the street to Salu. From 3-7 all mussels, flatbreads, and drinks are half off. Why not enjoy a fresh mojito with a fig and prosciutto flatbread while watching the masses outside suffer in hunger and anticipation?

The ultimate low key spot

Low Key: Little known fact, everyone’s favorite late night spot actually has a happy hour.  At Snake ‘n Jakes, from 7- 10 you can enjoy $3 glasses of wine, and all the ambiance Snakes has to offer. That is, if you can resist the temptation of a Schlitz.

Fried Eggs should be on everything. Always.

Hungry: It wouldn’t be right to exclude this one. Domenica happy hour is so epic that an entirely new restaurant, Pizza Domenica, has spawned from it. From 3-6 all pizzas and drinks are half price at this CBD hotspot – just head over straight from your New Orleans Luxury Apartments. If you want to enjoy some of the best pizza in the city while sipping on a cocktail, this is your spot. A great date spot or after-work gathering place, Domenica is casual but classy. My personal favorite is the wild mushroom pizza because everything should always have a fried egg on it.

Overheated: Has the oppressive New Orleans summer humidity got you down? Superior Seafood is your move. From 4-6:30 you can enjoy 2 for 1 frozen mojitos. My friend Flynn encourages everyone to try the frozen pomegranate variety- its on his top drinks in New Orleans short list. Once you’ve cooled down a bit, feast on their 50 cent raw oysters. I certainly can’t think of a better combination.

Refreshing, Delicious, 2 for 1

Intellectual: Head over to Tracey’s on Magazine from 4-7 for $3 Abita Amber and 50 cents off domestics. Go for the beer, stay for trivia. The games begin at 7pm and the winners get a $50 bar tab. You just might see the RB&L team there tonight.
